I am a Tomato

I am a cute tomato,

I am red and green for most of my life!

I am a poor man’s apple,

Cheering the common man all the time!

I can be grown organic or,

Bio-tech and genetic, choice is yours!

I am a swinging cash crop,

With supply and demand strings!

Out in the nature looking at the sky,

Rocking and rolling all the time,

Ready to stay quite in your freezer,

For some more time!

In between the bread slices ‘jam’ me soft,

Not to create a jam in your mouth.

If you are cold and freezing,

Make me a soup to feel the heat!

If your tongue is soar,

And taste gone for a toss,

Ketch me up or make me a sauce!

Boosting your health,

I am packed with anti-oxidants and

Can lower cholesterol levels!

I am a delicious tomato,

The curry way or fry way,

Sliding on highway into your stomach!

 

Should Cell Phones be allowed in Schools?-Look for Alternatives!

Cell phone has become an indispensable gadget in our life today. Sometimes we think that life will be paralyzed without a cell phone. It is erasing distances between people and it facilitates us to communicate fast. With the help of a cell phone we can be in constant touch with our family members and friends.

This gives us a sort of confidence. We are assured that we can contact our near and dear in case of any emergency. And now-a-days cell phone has included many options in it; it is no longer a mere communication device. One such feature is dictionary. It is very handy for students. We can find the meaning of difficult words within seconds.

Now the question is whether it should be allowed in schools. Strictly speaking, students don’t need cell phone in school. If the students are allowed to bring cell phone to school, they will definitely create unnecessary panic in class which will distract the whole class. Some students may take unnecessary photos using cell camera and misuse them. They may engage in chatting with their friends or family. They may play music on cell phone and disturb other students when the teacher is not in the classroom.

Though some may argue that children need to carry cell phone to contact parents in case of facing unforeseen problems; but every school today has a telephone in the school office where parents can convey information to their children or vice versa. So, I firmly opine that cell phone should not be allowed in schools.

Time and tide wait for none!

We can never rewind Time. One, who utilizes time well, will always shine. It is a measure in which events can be ordered from the past through the present in the future. Everyone can see it ticking as one looks at the clock, but no one can lock it. It is said that “Time is neither an event nor a thing and thus it is not itself measurable nor can it be traveled”. It runs and runs while you enjoy and have fun. The round shaped clock tries to warn you by showing importance of every moment every hour, every minute and every second. You may think about your money, your property and expensive things and may drown in sorrow. But by thinking about the things which you have already lost, you are losing the most precious thing that is time.

Time helps us in maintaining structure of our daily lives and activities. So that we can live a more organized and productive life. Time escapes none. It makes us self reliant and successful. It is also very powerful and if not utilized properly can ruin our existence. Our parents say that time gives you success. But time is not success. But success is the manner how you utilize time. Here is a short poem regarding importance of time:

It is time,

Which will never rewind,

It runs and runs,

While you enjoy and have fun,

It can be seen in the clock,

But cannot be locked,

The clock which is round in shape,

Shows the time and will never escape,

When it shows you the right way,

Teacher was living where he worked, exists in nearby town and ought his children to be studying at his school.

Leader was for the people, is for making himself wealthy and ought to work for the nation’s property, public prosperity and national integrity.

Vendor was searched once, is searching for customers and ought to uphold quality, quantity and superiority.

Movie was with artistic values, is with commercial odor and ought to boost the values, remind the history and conscious of message.

Literature was to convey, is to convert and ought to communicate with the common and touch their imagination.

Man was a creator, is a predator and ought to be a connector between the past and future.

Just a Thought!

From everybody’s intelligence,

I’m calculating my ignorance.

With everybody’s wealth,

I’m estimating my misery.

With everybody’s foolishness,

I’m getting wisdom.

What makes a man?

It’s just a thought,

Dear Mum!

Dear mum you gave me a wonderful present,

Which is very pleasant ….

That is my birth,

For which I can’t pay any worth.

Melting yourself like candle you fulfilled my needs,

I can say you do kind and good deeds.

Dear mum you every time support me,

And try to make me happy and live in glee….

You make me realize my mistake,

For each and every wrong step I take,

You discriminate and explain to me what is good and bad,

You also teach me always to be happy and never to be sad.

Dear mum you are the best person I’ve ever met,

I believe that you are the secret for the success I get.

You Can Do It!

You can have envisioned your ‘self’.

But you have yet to learn

That is actually you.

You are still cherishing the illusion,

That your ‘self’ … is away from yourself.

At times you further cherish, the illusion,

That you can, could, will or would prove.

That ‘self’, is only the real existing thing forever.

To all others who don’t trust you or believe in you ….

Though you can have envisioned accordingly,

You could never prove so to so and so;

As long as you observe so and so and so.

Are separated from you as well as,

You from yourself, you from ‘self’,

Similarly rain drop + earth equal a diamond ….

When the drops fall on earth

They resemble beautiful diamonds in the world ….

Upon touching the earth,

They symbolize a new born baby waiting for the first touch of her mother ……

Upon falling on the plants ….

They look like a girl wearing the most pervious diamonds in the world …..

Silent Night

A silent night …..

Sat in the moon light, quiet and bright,

The feeling of delight,

The weather is so calm,

And so are the thoughts warm.

As the cold breeze made my blood clot,

Memories bygone knocked my broken heart.

My labels grace, splendor and touch,

Still makes me feel as such.

The time together we spent,

Persists as an enduring lament,

The indelible charisma of hers,

Imbibed in me as a curse,

Perceiving her presence all day and night,

Thinking of her in might.

In the wink of an eye all I lost,

Remained aloof to sustain the past,

Never can I forget her in life, for she was the one, who was supposed to be my wife.

Let my beloved soul stay in everlasting peace and harmony, no matter leaving me forsaken in this eternal world of agony.
